About Fluorspar:

Fluorspar, also known as natural fluorite, is a versatile mineral with various industrial uses. It is commonly referred to as "fluorspar" in the industry and comes in different grades of purity.

Metallurgical Grade Fluorite:

Metallurgical grade fluorite, with a purity of 60-85% CaF2, is primarily used as a flux in steel production. It helps lower the melting point of raw materials and aids in the removal of impurities. It is also used in the production of aluminum.

Ceramic Grade Fluorite:

Ceramic grade fluorite, with a purity of 85-95% CaF2, is used in the manufacturing of opalescent glass, enamels, and cooking utensils. Its high purity makes it ideal for these applications.

Acid Grade Fluorite:

The highest grade of fluorite is known as "acid grade fluorite" and has a purity of 97% or higher. In the US, it accounts for about 95% of fluorite consumption. Acid grade fluorite is used in the production of hydrogen fluoride and hydrofluoric acid by reacting it with sulfuric acid.
